If you're on a tight budget and don't require a stroller that doubles up as a car seat carrier the Babyzen Yoyo is a good choice. It has a flip-flop friendly one-step footbrake.

It's easy to push and it feels solid when you are traversing kerbs and woodland trails. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned its reputation as the most lightweight stroller, both for city dwellers as for jet-setters. This is thanks to its nimble maneuverability and fold that fits into the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. This latest version features independent suspension on all 4 wheels comprised of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to effortlessly traverse all terrains and types'.

The YOYO2 frame base along with the curved fabric bassinet and 6+ month color pack combine to form a stylish pushchair that is easy to look at, with a subtle but elegant design and a tasteful branding. The base frame alone weighs just under a kilo and is so light you can lift it directly from the box (and do so one-handed).

It's also easy to add or remove attachments or adaptors - the hood, for instance, snaps onto the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks - as well as being machine washable at 30 degrees to prevent stains from smushed rice cakes and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram right from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to stroller at 6 months using the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is an excellent choice for parents looking for a stroller that is versatile. The Evenflo Xplore can be transformed from a stroller into an actual wagon by flipping the handle. Parents can then select which one is the best fit for their needs. The wagon can accommodate two or more children between 6 months to five years old. It comes with a large storage basket that can hold everything you need while on the go.

The Xplore has two canopies that rotate from front-to-back, providing adequate sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footprint than some wagons. This might not be ideal for long drives or naps.

The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy, however, it isn't able to bend like other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the competition and it doesn't lock tightly when folded. It is easy to maneuver, though, and it can fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents seeking a budget-friendly secondary travel stroller. It scored a dazzling score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and folded size, which means it's very light, compact when folded and easy to lift into a car trunk or closet. It also features a multi-position reclined seat and a cup holder for the parent. Other important features include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels as well as two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.

In our test of the push and turn it performed better than many of the other strollers of a similar price we tried, but it's not the most maneuverable over uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has were among the tiniest of strollers we tested. They only cover the top and do not have peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a more extensive canopy.

The Delta took us just over 3 minutes to put together using an average manual and no components required tools. It's lacking some features that we consider essential in double strollers. This includes an extra-large basket, reclining seats, and adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Lara2 Graphite Baby Stroller: Lightweight Compact Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the most recent version of Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is billed as an urban travel system. It is designed to carry infants from birth until around 3.5 years, converting easily into a seat and carrycot by just a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats, and comes with the light Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible carriage.

It is really easy to maneuver, and the one-hand reclining of the seat as well as the super large shopping basket make it easy for parent-tots to get the child out and in quickly. Although it is a narrow pushchair it handled the bumps of everyday life well and was able to pass through doorways without any fuss.

The front wheels can be locked in an forward position or let them swivel which can be helpful when crossing rough terrain. We let the front wheels to swivel on our walk along a stony path. It handled this reasonably well, even though it felt a little bumpier.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is most famous for its 3-wheeled, all-terrain strollers that jog. But they also make a broad range of 4-wheeler pushchairs. City Tour 2 is their most popular model. It is easy to use and folds down small enough to fit in the car boot, even with the carrycot attached.

It's a bit heavier than the other strollers we tested but the wheels are a rubber composite, so it feels sturdy and durable. It's a breeze to maneuver across all types of terrain and it's easy to move, even when loaded with two children and a shopping bag.

Both the seat and the carrycot come with hoods that can be removed to reveal the UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are water-resistant and durable unlike other prams' hoods that get bounced back into toddlers faces.

It's not a lot of storage space but it has a large basket deep enough to hold a changing bag or plenty of groceries. You can also use it with a Baby Jogger car seat that is suitable for babies that weigh up to 20 pounds (car seat and adapters are sold separately). If you require a stroller that can be used on the road, the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first rolled onto the scene it stole the hearts of parents across the world. It's a frame made of aluminum that will see you through your baby's early days and beyond. It has a number of distinctive features like the possibility of flipping the seat to be parent-facing and world-facing, a huge UPF 50+ canopy, an eye shade that flips out as well as a large basket and adjustable handlebar.

The wheels are strong and foam-filled which minimises punctures. The chassis also has built-in suspension which takes the sting out of rough terrain. It was easy to push, and our tester was able to maneuver the car through the narrow streets.

It folds automatically and locks in just four steps. It can also be rolled and stood up for easier transport down the stairs or in the boot of the car. It also comes equipped with the option to add a car seat or carrycot with the adaptors included. The brakes come with only one action and are color coded. They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is easy to use and comes with an excellent dual suspension. It can be folded by one hand and comes with a handy carrying strap. It is also lightweight and robust. The seat can be reclined into many different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress built in that is suitable for infants.

The canopy/seat has two extra-large fixed or flip-out sun visors, both of which are UPF50+. However the toggle closure isn't ideal - it's not as silent as Velcro and may wake napping babies.

The Duet is a stroller with an angled design that can be used for twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It can be used with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin mode seats, the seats can be placed so that they face each one. They can also be oriented towards the parents. This will help reduce sibling arguments over who sits with dad and mom. It comes with a big tray for gears with a bottle holder as well as snack tray. It also has an automated frame lock and a compact fold.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger designed for parents who love to be active. It's one of the lightest strollers that you can buy your child. It also comes with great safety features, including a 5-point safety harness and wrist safety strap. It comes with a different kind of hand brake than other models that are an interesting twist.

The seat is well padded and provides a wide area to sit. However, the seat depth is smaller than that of other joggers (it's just about 10 inches") The storage bin is covered with a zipper to keep things secure. It can hold up to 10lbs, which is enough for the majority of diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with infant car seats or bassinets as of yet, but you can use it from day one by purchasing adapters to most seats from brands like BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It folds down compactly and takes 5-10 minutes to assemble without tools. The instruction manual is easy to understand and includes multiple languages.
